ICI SECURITY SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERING TO INTRODUCE REVOLUTIONARY WIRELESS-ASSISTED GPS TRACKING SYSTEM

New system will use CSI Wireless locator/transmitter, nationwide ReFLEX paging system and Locate Networks?Internet mapping and GPS tracking application to track the movement of stolen assets.

New Orleans, LA September 16, 2003 ICI Security Systems, the world leading supplier of security staining systems for asset protection, announced today its plans to introduce a new cutting-edge asset tracking system. The announcement was made at the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International Seminar in New Orleans, LA.

“Incorporating Global Positioning System (GPS), coast-to-coast wireless communications and Internet-based mapping, tracking and notification, ICI’s new system will allow customers to track ?and retrieve ?stolen assets, as well as assist law enforcement in criminal apprehension,?said Robert Kiefer, Executive Vice President North America, ICI Security Systems.

CSI has been actively investigating all known suppliers of GPS and location technology since 1997 and we feel we have partnered with the leading technology providers in their respective fields? added Kiefer.

The new system incorporates a thin, battery-powered circuit board embedded in a stack of real bills, appearing like any other currency bundle. When the device leaves the teller station, its GPS receiver and wireless transmitter are activated. The advanced, assisted-GPS receiver is able to locate the position of the currency bundle in buildings, cars or other hard-to-find locations. Its radio transmitter uses the nationwide ReFLEX pager network to feed the location data to a secure Web site where authorized personnel can view the exact location of the stolen bundle and direct law enforcement to its recovery.

To design and develop this new security solution, ICI partnered with technology leaders in location, wireless communications and Web-based mapping and tracking. CSI Wireless of Calgary, Canada will supply the hardware, based on CSI proven Asset-Link location and communications device for fleet management and remote asset monitoring. A nationwide ReFLEX paging system will provide communications. And Locate Networks of Seattle, WA designed the back-end Web mapping and tracking application.

CSI tracking system will be an invaluable asset protection and retrieval service for banks, credit unions, ATM operators, check cashing services, currency exchanges, casinos and other asset handling businesses. Like our other protection products, the tracking system is simple to deploy, easy to use and an affordable theft-prevention and stolen asset recovery system,?Kiefer said.

A prototype of ICI Security Systems new tracking product will be on exhibit September 16-17, 2003 at the ASIS International Seminar, booth #1706, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana, and is expected to be available mid 2004.
